After breakfast and a stroll through Kawthaung's morning market, board your speedboat and head out into the legendary Myeik (Mergui) Archipelago — 800 islands of jungle, white sand and turquoise water, virtually untouched by tourism.

Arrive at Nyaung Oo Phee Island by midday: a private-island hideaway of powder-soft beaches, swaying palms and a house reef teeming with fish just steps from shore. Check in, lunch at the beach restaurant, then the afternoon is yours — swim, snorkel the crystal-clear shallows or kayak along the coast.

A full day in paradise. Join the included snorkelling excursion to the island's best coral gardens — parrotfish, clownfish, sea fans and (if you're lucky) turtles in visibility that often exceeds 20 metres.

Back on the island: flop in a hammock, walk the jungle trail to the panoramic viewpoint, paddle a kayak to the sandbar at low tide, or try stand-up paddleboarding on the glassy morning sea.
